The aseptic beverage filling process
Quality and hygiene are top priorities for you – so you’re at the right address with a SIG Combibloc machine. Here’s how the aseptic beverage filling process works.
The SIG Combibloc sleeve system offers the advantage that the longitudinal seams of the carton packs have already been sealed by the time the carton sleeves reach the food manufacturers’ production plants. Our customers receive the packaging material as flat pre-fabricated sleeves, printed with the required design, precisely marked with fold lines and pre-sealed. Inside the SIG filling machines, each carton pack is individually shaped and the base sealed. The aseptic process rapidly heats the beverages to ultra-high temperatures using UHT equipment, cools them down again immediately, and fills them into the sterilised carton packs in the aseptic zone of the SIG filling machine. After the filling process, the cartons are ultrasonically sealed above the filling level.
There are so many benefits to this process. Your consumers can be sure of a high-quality, tasty drink with all its natural nutrients, vitamins, flavour and colours. The carton structure completely blocks light and air, ensuring that your products can be stored for a long time without refrigeration or preservatives. And for you? Easier compliance with food hygiene regulations along with a fast and cost-effective filling process.
Our machines can fill an impressive 9,000 large-format carton packs per hour. In the medium-size format, our ultra-modern filling machines achieve an output of up to 12,000 carton packs per hour. And for small carton sizes, we have developed two high-speed filling machines, which are capable of filling 24,000 packs per hour.
All our machines come with the lowest rate of waste in our industry – at below 0.5% – and have the highest level of flexibility in terms of carton formats, volumes, decors and even the type of products you put in them. This speed, efficiency and flexibility have a direct effect on your bottom line.
